~ October ~
We did 3 Day Trips in October to new places. This is the first one.
The Great River Road also runs along the other side of the Mississippi River in Missouri.
We crossed the river into Hannibal and took the road down to Clarksville.
It was not supposed to be a cloudy day :(
This is one of my favorite drives.
The leaves were just beginning to turn.
Ahhh... I love our drives.
It was a little less than perfect with the clouds but I saw this...
A face in the sky! So glad I was able to get a photo of it.
And the trees that are just starting to change...
It was really pretty but the overcast haze hid the sun.
I love country churches, the cemeteries come with them,
it is a package deal so I have accepted it.
One bright orange tree top ~
We drove through Louisiana (Missouri)
And then into Clarksville ~
The Mississippi River and the first building we see is a mock steamboat
(it says Clarksville on the pergola)
We had no idea there was an "Apple Fest" going on...
Funny thing ~ there isn't a single apple tree in all of Clarksville.
Suddenly there were horses in front of us ...
And these beauties :)
My favorite part of this photo is the 2 little girls in their reversed orange and blue outfits ~
We arrived at the Eagle's Bluff Golf Course
This was one of my favorite courses.
I wish it hadn't been cloudy so the photos would be better.

I can't help it... I love cows.
The countryside surrounding the course was beautiful.
So... we had heard there was a 700 yard hole...
And here it is ~ 704 yds from the Black Tee ~
Contemplating this 704 yards...
Is that a "halo" above him?
It certainly is an opening in the clouds directly over his head :)
It was a very serene course.
These photos would have been so much better if the sun had come out :o(
On the way home we stopped at a View Area ~
That is the Mississippi River and this is on the Missouri side.
After this stop we went to Lovers Leap in Hannibal,
which I did a separate blog about.
This was the first in a series of 3 Day Trips to new areas.
The next one is to that golf course we had not made it to the day we got "detoured".
The trees are even more beautiful there.
I hope you enjoyed this trip and will come along on the next one.
