This is in Hannibal, Missouri... "America's Hometown"
If you are familiar with Mark Twain (Samual Clemens), the legendary author of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" you may recognize it.
Hannibal, Missouri is the boyhood home of Mark Twain and the setting for his stories.
But this is NOT about Mark Twain and it is NOT one of his stories.
This is more like Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet...
This is the story of an Indian brave and his princess...
The rock ...
I keep looking at this photo. The shadow and the sunlight give it something extra.
The rock and the Mississippi River
(my version of a selfie)
On the other side of the river is Illinois.
The bridge that crosses the Mississippi River into Hannibal on the left.
The lighthouse is in the trees. This is Hannibal. The trees are just beginning to change.
Downtown Hannibal.
Next weekend is the official "Color Run" and it should be the peak of the fall colors.
The flag at Lovers Leap in a gentle breeze with blue skies
The road into Hannibal on the Missouri side of the River. I love the orange tips on the trees.
We had taken a drive along the Mississippi River Road in Missouri down to a golf course but it was cloudy all day. On the way back the sun came out and we decided to stop at Lovers Leap.
I have alot of photos from earlier in the day but I have to edit them.
These pictures were all taken with Richard's camera because I hadn't charged all the batteries for my camera and it died. This camera takes good photos but it doesn't have the zoom.
So that is the story of Lovers Leap.
I hope you enjoyed this little Field Trip.
